As President and Founder of Benson Wealth Management and Senior Wealth Advisor with Raymond James Financial Services, I partner with families and individuals with complex wealth, estate, and tax needs to help organize and optimize their financial life. As a wealth advisor for over a decade and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I coordinate with my clients’ estate attorney, CPA and other professionals to ensure that all aspects of the financial process are covered. When you partner with me, my goal is to understand what's most important to you and to help you strive for your financial goals. But ultimately, I want to be your financial captain, the first person you call when you have a complex financial issue whether it is simply advice on whether to buy that new car or as sophisticated as multigenerational wealth and legacy planning.
Before my career in wealth management, I received a BA in economics from Grove City College and a master's in economics from San Jose State. Much of my research focus in graduate school was in macroeconomics and monetary theory. Following graduate school, I started as an economist at ITR Economics, a macroeconomic trend and forecasting firm. I then worked for Forrester Research, a top research and consulting firm. As a trained macroeconomist, I have been able to provide distinct and prescient insights to my clients regarding macroeconomic trends, Fed Reserve policy, internet rates, bond price movements, inflation, fiscal policy, financial innovation, etc. I am also a student of both the Great Depression and Great Recession of 2008/09.
I am fortunate to say that I am excited to go to work every day. I am genuinely passionate about this job and my clients. As an entrepreneur to the core, it is extraordinarily rewarding to have formed my own practice and to be aligned with Raymond James. I also consider myself blessed to have incredible staff: Miranda Bertram, Patrick Shea, Katie Kumpulanian, and Lena Larson. My job would be impossible to perform without their assistance and comradery.
My wife, Rebecca, our seven children and I live in Southern New Hampshire. We raise chickens, and our two Collie dogs play the critical task of herding our children. We enjoy golfing, hiking, snow skiing, and RVing as a family. As a financial guy, I have determined that the highest rate of return I can achieve is through the raising of my children. When my wife and I reflect on what is most important in life, it is the relationships that we cultivate with our family, friends, colleagues, church, and local community. Relationships are everything.
